Our short documentary [German voiceover]

Please enjoy our short documentary (German voiceover only). It provides a 20-minute-glimpse at what we did and explains what we encountered during our expedition in 2009 and tells the story from the very beginning.

Sit back and enjoy some beautiful shots from the high regions of the Nepalese Himalayas.

Thank you, guys!

We’re back home! Our expedition is finished and we’re back in Germany – everybody’s healthy and happy! Though we encountered very bad weather conditions at Dhaulagiri (where we failed two times) and had no success regarding climbing a 6000 peak, the expedition was a definitely great success!

We’re confident to be able to make use of all our recent work in Nepal – scientifically as well as cinematically. We will keep you up to date!

We have to thank everybody who made this expedition possible with unlimted effort, support and friendliness:

Dandi Sherpa (first guide at our second and third trek, 28 years old)
Budu Lama Tamang (assistant guide first trek, 45 years old)

ABC

Annapurna Base Camp! We pitch our tents at a little remoter place some steps away from all the touristic trouble to enjoy two more days accompanied by the last real high mountains.

Dhaulagiri > us. Again.

Dhaulagiri does not like us – again! After lots of hiking we spent one night at a Yak hut. The next morning is not like we wanted it to be – it’s cloudy and snow keeps falling above 3000m a.s.l. We decide to go down because it’s the only intelligent option. The weather is bad for the next seven days. We will come back to Dhaulagiri…some time.

A second attempt for reaching Hidden Valley

Jomsom – fresh food and a shower! In the next days we will try to reach Hidden Valley for a second time during this journey. This time we will try to enter directly from Kali Gandaki Valley over Dhampus Pass. Afterwards we will continue to investigate the southern paths. Eventually we will reach Annapurna Base Camp.
